ASCA Releases 2007-2008 School Counselor Ratios

The American School Counselor Association has released the school counselor ratios for the 2007-2008 school year.  The national average was 460:1.  The Ohio average stood slightly higher at 477:1.  Overall, Ohio ranked as having the 11th highest ratio.  With the recent victory of the secondary 250:1 ratio that was included in the last budget bill, it will be interesting to see how Ohio's school counselor ratio will be impacted and in turn how we can further impact student achievement.
